Is it unsafe or possible to wear halloween colored contacts over top of regular prescription contact lenses?

It seems dangerous to do, but I thought I would ask just in case. I am a control color contacts for Halloween and I wear contact lenses on order already. I would only wear it for Halloween for a few hours. Is this dangerous?

What is the procedure to getting your first-time contact lenses?

Wearing one lens on top of another makes the combination at least twice as thick as desirable and cutting the amount of oxygen to probably less than half of what is safe. This would probably do no harm for just a few hours, but if your prescription is available in the halloween contacts that would be the best approach.

I would definitely recommend against doing this. Layering two contacts over each other will starve your eye of oxygen.

You can get Rx Halloween lenses for the same price as plano (0.00) ones, so just order something in your prescription and you won’t have to worry about it. Just make sure that you order your lenses from a reputable website like CoastalContacts.com who sell only FDA approved lenses.
