I’m your host Dana Ward and we’re getting straight into the bio of Nikki Reed. While most people think this favorite vampire hit it big-time with the Twilight series, Nikki actually was pretty big time by the time a few years ago. Back in 2003, she got credited as a co-writer for the film, Thirteen, along with the film’s director – get this – Catherine Hardwicke! Nikki starred in the movie – alongside on-screen bff, Evan Rachel Wood – as it was partially autobiographical about a 13-year-old girl’s relationship with her mother while going through some pretty difficult teen times with her troubled best friend. Some other credits include Lords of Dogtown, American Gun, Mini’s First Time, Man of God, Familiar Strangers, The OC among a bunch of other shows and films – some still on their way to theatres, of course. It seems Reed grew up pretty quickly, not only with her early jump into the entertainment industry, but it’s been reported that she moved out on her own at the age of 14. She grew up mostly in Culver City, California – she was actually born in West LA on May 17th, 1988 – but for a bit, through early grade school, Nikki lived in Illinois. Trivia: for the movie Thirteen she actually did get her tongue pierced unlike Evan Rachel Wood, and in the first hitting scene of the movie it was reported that she actually did sustain a real injury.

You forgot to mention that a year before she did Twilight, a friend dared her to get a minimum wage paying job so she put up her belongings on Craigslist and gave them away for FREE. Then she moved to Hawaii on her own and got a minimum wage paying job at a grocery store.
